Protective Hands: Non-Residential Domestic Abuse Services
For women and families who do not need shelter or for families who have left shelter, Protective Hands' certified therapists and family advocates offer professional, confidential services.
Programs and Services for Women
Safe Haven offers the following services and resources for women who have experienced domestic abuse:
- Support groups
- Individual counseling
- Case management/legal advocacy
- Information and resources through our Resource Library
- Continued support for former residents of Ramoth House
Programs and Services for Children
Protective Hands also offers a special trauma-intervention group for children called I Feel Better Now. I Feel Better Now is an 8-week support group for children ages 6-12 and is conducted four times per year. Participating in I Feel Better Now allows children to:
- Share their stories in a safe, supportive environment
- Learn to recognize and acknowledge feelings and make decisions on how to act on them
- Learn non-violent problem solving skills
- Develop stress management tools
- Have an age appropriate understanding of the cycle of abuse
