Childcare providers serve the clients of Safe Haven by providing children’s programming while mothers attend support groups. Duties include working with a Safe Haven staff member to maintain general supervision over the children, while facilitating fun and educational activities. This is a great position for anyone who enjoys working with children and wants to learn more about the effects of domestic abuse on children. Some experience working with children required. Must be reliable. Confidentiality is a necessity.
Gardeners & Maintenance Providers
Gardeners and maintenance providers serve the clients of Safe Haven by weeding and maintaining flower beds. Requirements include a flexible working schedule to assist with basic yard work. Good position for anyone who enjoys working outdoors independently or as a team. Time commitment is three hours per week, stopping by to water one to two times per week.
Transportation providers serve the clients of Safe Haven by transporting clients one day a week to and from appointments in a Safe Haven vehicle. Another opportunity is picking up donations from the office and bring them to the shelter. Transportation providers are required to complete a background check and attend a Domestic Violence Seminar. Time commitment is once per week for up to three hours.
Available for families, Bible studies, mothers’ groups, or other groups to help with yard work, painting, and other tasks needed around the shelter.
