What is a web chat?
Web chat allows you to speak directly with a Safe Haven Advocate in real time. You can chat with an advocate from your Smart Phone or a computer.
If an advocate is currently not available, you will receive a message encouraging you to reach out directly to our 24/7 hotline.
Important safety and security considerations.
The web chat is encrypted. However, if your computer has been compromised, someone else could still see the chat conversation.
If your abuser frequently monitors your phone or computer usage, it is important to find a safe computer to communicate with us via chat. Public libraries often have computers that community members can safely use.
If your computer or phone is not safe, please reach out to our 24/7 hotline (616-452-6664) or show up at our office between 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday. You do not need an appointment.
