What you will get to do:
As the Mobile Advocate you will engage with survivors in the community to provide
comprehensive support and intervention services for those who are experiencing relationship
abuse, human trafficking (labor and sex trafficking) and exploitation. Individuals in this role will
have experience working independently and exhibit the relationship building skills to work
across systems and in unconventional settings. This is a specialist role requiring a candidate
who can provide leadership, excellence in their ability to provide crisis response, facilitate
assessments, on-going case management, resource connection, legal support and connection
with diverse community partners.

Our ideal candidate:
Will preferably have a Bachelor’s Degree in social work or a related field, will have reliable
transportation, have an understanding of domestic violence and human trafficking and the skills
needed to work with trauma survivors, someone who can work as part of a team, but who is also
self-directed and enjoys taking initiative in their roles.

Safe Haven Ministries – a nonprofit organization located in Grand Rapids, Michigan – believes in
a multi-faceted approach to serving victims/survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking
and exploitation, while also working to prevent these types of violence in our community. Safe

transitional and rapid re-housing; psycho-educational support groups; individual case
management and advocacy; children and youth support services; crisis services; mobile
